International delegates explore how Giatec’s smart technologies are driving low-carbon concrete innovation and global sustainability goals.
Giatec®, global leader in digital concrete technology platforms, is honored to host the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Southeast Asian delegates at its headquarters today as part of the Canada-based Cement Decarbonization Study Tour.
This high-level international delegation includes senior representatives from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and UNIDO leadership. The visit to Giatec’s Ottawa HQ marks a key stop in a week-long study tour showcasing Canadian innovations in industrial decarbonization, especially within the cement and concrete sectors. Accompanying the delegation will be representatives from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), who will participate in a joint session at Giatec to highlight Canada’s leadership in cleantech innovation and collaborative efforts toward global emissions reduction.
Backed by an $8 million investment from the Government of Canada, the initiative is part of a broader effort to support low-carbon industrial transformation across the Indo-Pacific. The delegation’s goal is to explore state-of-the-art technologies and best practices that can be leveraged to advance national net-zero targets in their respective countries.
“Giatec is proud to demonstrate how our AI-powered technologies like SmartRock® and SmartMix™ are enabling a more sustainable and intelligent approach to concrete production,” said Aali R. Alizadeh, CTO and Co-Founder of Giatec. “We are excited to collaborate with global partners and contribute to the innovation pipeline driving decarbonization in heavy industries.”
As part of the Industrial Deep Decarbonization Initiative (IDDI), this visit strengthens international cooperation, fosters knowledge exchange, and reinforces Canada’s position as a global leader in sustainable construction solutions.
The visit to Giatec will include a company presentation, live demonstrations of its concrete sensor technologies, and a dialogue on the role of smart data in reducing cement-related emissions. The delegation’s insights will help shape pilot programs and policies aimed at creating low-carbon construction ecosystems in Southeast Asia.
