Monitor SmartRock Data From Any Location

SmartHub is a remote monitoring system that allows you to access your SmartRock data at anytime, from anywhere. These user-friendly sensors are easily installed in the concrete formwork (on the rebar) before pouring to monitor your concrete’s in-situ temperature and strength in real-time. The Hub automatically collects this data recorded by the SmartRock sensors and uploads it to the Giatec 360 cloud dashboard via LTE where it is synced to your team’s mobile devices in the SmartRock app. The Giatec 360 alert system sends smart notifications to let you know when your concrete reaches specific thresholds.

How long does the battery last?

The SmartHub is a battery powered device. Under normal temperature conditions, the battery will last up to roughly 10 days.  The user can remotely monitor the level of the battery, the status (charging, discharging) and the location of the device through the Giatec 360 dashboard.

What is the readings frequency of the SmartHub?

The SmartHub makes a full scan of all sensors within wireless range every 15 minutes and uploads the new sensor information to the Giatec 360 cloud.

Is the SmartHub compatible in my region?

The hub communicates with the cloud through LTE or Wi-Fi connection. Please contact the Giatec Support Team, if you need help setting up your SmartHub for continuous measurements.

How does the SmartHub know which sensors to collect data from?

By logging on to the SmartHub with your Giatec 360 credentials, the SmartHub will know exactly which sensors to collect data from. It is not necessary to pair the sensors with the hub prior to the pour.

Yes, the SmartHub is fully designed and tested for all job site conditions and is guaranteed an operation of at least 1 month at a temperature ranging from -4 to 140 °F (-20 to 60°C). Depending on the weather condition and the number of sensors with a continuous connection to the SmartHub, battery life could last for a little longer. Giatec is based in Ottawa, Canada, and being the capital of a country with the largest temperature fluctuations, the SmartHub was tested extensively both inside the lab and in local construction sites over all seasonal conditions.

Yes, this is not a problem. You can always move your SmartHub location, within the same job site, across different job sites, or across states. As long as the SmartHub is turned on, it will detect the LTE network in the area and scan for nearby sensors. If you are planning on using a SmartHub in a different country, please contact Giatec support first.

The SmartHub is compatible with the older version of the sensor ( SmartRock 2) and the newer version of the sensor ( SmartRock 3). The connection range between the hub and the sensor will vary based on the version. Contact Giatec’s support team or refer to the user guide for more information.

The SmartHub has the capability of recording information for 100 sensors at a time.

It is recommended to install the SmartHub above the concrete level 5ft (1.5m) or more, as long as it stays with the sensor connection range. A typical installation location would be on the top railing of the catwalk, on the formwork, shoring, or vertical element near in proximity from the sensor location.
