Bulk Resistivity

  • Bulk resistivity is a measure of how much resistance a material has to the flow of electrical current through its entire volume. It is the reciprocal of conductivity, which is a measure of how well a material conducts electrical current. Bulk resistivity is expressed in ohm-meters (Ω·m), and it is an important property in many fields, including electrical engineering, materials science, and geology. The bulk resistivity of a material is influenced by several factors, including its composition, temperature, pressure, and the presence of impurities or defects. In general, materials with high resistivity are poor conductors of electricity, while those with low resistivity are good conductors.
