MAY 1, 2013. OCEANSIDE, CA. Demolition site of a new concrete railroad bridge over the Santa Margarita River on Camp Pendleton about 2 miles north of Oceanside, CA. With completion nearing, it was discovered that the span over the river was sinking. The engineering mistake delays replacing the aging trestle bridge on the main north/south freight and passenger route. (Don Bartletti / Los Angeles Times)
