This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Giatec Scientific Inc. collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.giatecscientific.com website (“Site”), Giatec’s mobile applications (“App”) and the Giatec 360 solution (“Cloud”). This privacy policy applies to the Site, App, Cloud and all products and services offered by Giatec Scientific Inc (“Products”).
Personal identification information
- We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users use our Products, register on the Site, App or Cloud, place an order, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available in our Products. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, location and optional profile photo. Users may, however, use our Products anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Product related activities.
Non-personal identification information
- We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Products. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, type of mobile device, language preference, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Products, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

- Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Mobile Applications
- Our Apps may collect personal identification information such as name, email address, mailing address, phone number, location, optional profile photo in order to provide the best customer experience. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain App related activities. Our apps utilize location permissions in order to update data from nearby sensors when SmartHub functionality is enabled in the App. The App needs to use the location in the background, even when the app is not in use in order to have uninterrupted service.
How we use collected information:
Giatec Scientific Inc. collects and uses Users personal information for the following purposes:
- To personalize user experience: We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided in our Products.
- To improve our Products: We continually strive to improve our product offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from Users.
- To improve customer service: Use information helps us to more effectively respond to customer service requests and support needs.
- To process transactions: We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
- To send periodic emails: The email address Users provide for order processing, will only be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.
